The Art of Progress

Progress is an art, a comfort to the soul and mind-blowing retaliation of pure existence. We all seek a purpose, a fulfillment, a reason to live or the otherwise. The human brain is an excellent organ, an incomparable machine, and it works as much as we push it to. Everyone’s on a mission; financially, physically, emotionally and the only way to make a noticeable progress from point A to B is if we get to understand we are all different. 

Funny how the world is? The at my age, AMA, the condition is a gripping concept that has become signed, sealed, delivered to almost every human being on the planet.

Success is versatile of definitions, and everyone has a different idea of what it means to be successful. It is okay for you to be a millionaire at 16, get married at 20 and have kids by 22, it is also okay to have all that at 40. We’re on different paths, different missions and progression is an art. Art isn’t rushed, art happens. Art justifies truth and art reflects perfection.

We live in a world so pressured with another’s comprehension of perfection that we forget who we are, what we are and why we are. This gripping syndrome cuts across ages creating unwanted and guaranteed lifetime of depression, lacking the vulnerability of enjoying the moment. Little kids are pressured into being ‘cool,’ teens want so hard to be adults and adults, oh well don’t we all get it. I dread the day my little sister will wake up and suddenly realize that being a man’s side chic is apparently #goals. 

Progression requires acceptance, yes I am at point A, I need to get to point B, I can’t just fly there, but I can start with this simple step and get there. Millenials have an issue with starting small, with accepting life isn’t a fairytale and that being a slay queen won’t pay the bills. AMA will be the death of us.

There’s nothing as attractive and almost disgusting as quitters, people who don’t even try, waiting on life like manna. It’s the 21^st century for goodness sake, if like knock’s you down seven times, you get up eight. Everyone has a story, a beginning, God used what was at hand to create us, He didn’t work out some shakazulu guacamole drama, He made us, and as co-creators, we need to understand what it means to give back. It’s time to allow progression, allow growth and freedom to achieve unimaginable heights!
